| As a Power Dispatcher/ Real Time Trader you are responsible for the economic optimization of the company's power portfolio in the BENELUX on an intraday and day-ahead basis. In particular, this includes the commercial optimisation of the company's power plants in the Netherlands, Belgium and in Germany versus the spot market and the unbalance market. You are expected to identify and execute within-day and cross border trading opportunities with external counterparties. Moreover, you are responsible for taking real-time dispatch and trading decisions in emergency situations like power plant failures. You execute dispatch, nominations and balancing activities for the company's international trade office. The decisions of the Power Dispatcher/Real Time Trader have immediate financial consequences. Therefore, the level of responsibility is high. |

- Real-time trading which includes trading in the countries itself as well between the borders of the countries in NW Europe is increasing rapidly. Especially the cross border trading between DE, BE, FR and NL will give this company a lot of opportunities to optimize the Asset portfolio in NW Europe on an real time basis;
- Commercial optimisation of the power plant portfolio of the company (spark-spread optimisation) on an intraday and day-ahead basis versus the spot market and the unbalance market. Decides and executes day-ahead APX biddings (in the weekend). Real-time decision-making to turn power plants up or down, and to switch power generation between different fuel types;
- Maximize profits from regulating power and minimise imbalance cost;
- Commercial identification, negotiation and execution of intraday and day-ahead trading opportunities (incl cross border) on the bilateral spot market and unbalance market;
- Minimize losses in emergency situations like power plant outages through quick decision making;
- Execute dispatch, nominations and balancing activities for the company's international trade office, based on a commercial fee;
- Keep in close contact with trading counterparties, suppliers, grid operators (external);
- Keep in close contact with Production business unit regarding the expected availability of power plants (internal);
- Keep in close contact with short-term (structured) traders regarding the expected usage of power plants and complex contracts (ET);
- Monitor and balance the power portfolio in continues shifts (7 *24 hour shift), both demand and supply;
- Interacts closely with the forecasting team to be able to adjust the dispatch of power plants based on weather expectations;
- Leading role during night- and weekend-shifts in decision making towards production and our large customers;
- Understand the impact of actions on the power side in relation to the gas side and vice versa.

- Academic level;
- Commercial background with technical awareness;
- Knowledge of physical power plant assets;
- Commercial awareness for the identification of optimization opportunities;
- Experience in the energy sector (gas or electricity);
- Trading and negotiation skills;
- Ability to make quick decisions under stress, even with big money involved;
- Ability to interact smoothly with traders;
- Active knowledge of English and preferably Dutch and German.
