The Jr. Credit Risk Analyst must understand the business model well; including the main workflows associated with trading and supply chain activities. The role addresses the following issues:
- Counterparty risk;
- Country risk;
- Systems (use and improvement).
He or she must have a basic knowledge of credit risk and the various instruments used to mitigate it.
The Analyst will report to the Credit Risk Manager. |

Counterparty risk;
- Screening counterparties for credit-worthiness (mainstream risk activity);
- Determine payment terms and collateral requirements for electricity business in conjunction with Trader, Trade Finance and other groups within the company;
- See to it that MtM exposure is tracked and reported by contract and counterparty.
Country risk;
- Country risk (in-country net assets) will be tracked and reported to commercial management and the Risk Group, alongside the pre-agreed limits. Where exceedences occur or are foreseen, he or she will work to see that a mitigation/ reduction plan is prepared by the traders or local management.
Systems;
- The Junior Risk Analyst has a good view of the use and development of the local business administration systems. He/she therefore has the responsibility for risk measurement and reporting. System improvements are also part of the function.

- Experienced in numerical manipulation;
- At least 1-2 years’ trading/ trade finance/accounting/operations/legal experience;

- MS Excel (highly capable);
- MS Access (preferable);
- VBA (strong asset).

Our client located in Rotterdam is an international trading and shipping group. The group trades grains, oilseeds, vegetable oils, oilseed meals, and ocean freight. In addition, the group has recently become active in the bio-energy and green power markets. Client supplies feedstock, trades biodiesel and bioethanol and supplies biomass to power producers.
The products are procured in the major producing areas of the Americas and Europe and then sold to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Clients customer base is made up of milling, oilseed crushing and compound feed industries, regional food manufacturers, as well as bio-energy and power producers and distributors. |
