| As a Gas Dispatcher/Real Time Trader you are responsible for the economic optimisation of the company's gas portfolio across Europe on an intraday and partly on a day-ahead basis. In particular, this includes the commercial optimisation of the company's gas storage and supply contracts in the Netherlands, Belgium and in Germany versus the spot market and the unbalance market. You are expected to identify and execute within-day commercial trading opportunities with external counterparties. Moreover, you are responsible for taking real-time dispatch and trading decisions in emergency situations like gas production field failures. You executes dispatch, nominations and balancing activities for the company's international trade office. The decisions of the Gas Dispatcher/ Real time trader have immediate financial consequences, so the level of responsibility is high. |

- Real-time trading which includes trading in the countries itself as well between the borders of the countries in NW Europe. The purpose is to optimise Essent asset and financial contract position in NW Europe especially in and between the countries DE, BE, FR, UK and NL;
- Commercial optimisation of the company's gas portfolio across Europe on an intraday and partly day-ahead basis versus the spot market and the unbalance market. Real-time decision-making to turn gas storages up or down and to adjust supply contracts;
- Commercial identification, negotiation and execution of intraday and day-ahead trading opportunities on the bilateral spot market and unbalance market;
- Minimize losses in emergency situations like gas storage or gas field outages through quick decision making;
- Monitor and balance the gas portfolio on a 24 hour basis to avoid “costly” imbalance positions;
- Nominate gas flows in 14 countries all across Europe within critical deadlines;
- Interacts smoothly with the short-term (structured) gas traders and is able to decide under stress, even with big money involved;
- Execute dispatch, nominations and balancing activities for the company's international trade office, based on a commercial fee;
- Keep in close contact with trading counterparties, suppliers, grid operators;
- Keep in close contact with Production business unit regarding the expected availability of gas storages;
- Keep in close contact with short-term (structured) gas traders regarding the expected usage of gas storages and supply contracts;
- Monitor and balance in continues shifts (7 *24 hour shift) the gas portfolio (both demand and supply);
- Leading role during night- and weekend-shifts in decision making towards supply contractors, production and our large customers;
- Understand the impact of actions on the power side in relation to the gas side and vice versa.

- Academic level;
- Commercial background (preferable economic);
- Knowledge of physical gas fields and power plants;
- Commercial awareness for the identification of optimization opportunities;
- Experience in the energy sector (gas or electricity);
- Trading and negotiation skills;
- Ability to make quick decisions under stress, even with big money involved;
- Ability to interact smoothly with traders;
- Active knowledge of English, and preferably Dutch and German.
